We also have a lot of red currants left to pick. So that'll be next for the juicer.
Speaking of the juicer: we decided to invest in a steam juicer this year. If you've ever hated making jam or jelly because of the obnoxious process of juicing berries - this unit is for you!
All you do is put the washed berries in here:And with the water that steams up from the bottom pan, just wait for the berry juice to drip into here:
It takes about an hour and there's nothing more to it!! Unbelievably easy. Totally worth the money.
In other garden news, a few of the sweet peas have bloomed. They are so pretty and smell SO sweet!
We even have some grapes on the grapevines! Probably not enough to juice, but certainly enough to enjoy while standing out there picking them!
See them peeking through?
Here's the whole vine:
And that's the garden news worth anything! Most things are not doing real hot this year, but then they haven't been babied much either. :)
With our new water things seem to be doing much better....maybe because they're getting more of it? Can't wait to have enough currents to do something with. You need to let out the word you have a blog. :>)
